Beer Update: "Lips of Faith" series Sour Brown Ale, and Frmabozen Raspberry Brown Ale. ( www.newbelgium.com ), and Southern Tier 2X Milk Stout, ( www.southerntierbrewing.com ). A few friends let me know I oversold the attributes of the 2X Milk Stout. I really liked it's smooth taste, a stout without the hops bite. It went down way to easily.
Raspberry brown ale, discounted to $7.99 retail (save $2). Not the hoppy brown ale of Tommy Knocker ( www.tommyknocker.com ),or Moose Drool ( www.bigskybrew.com ). Nor the sweetness of New Castle Brown Ale ( www.newcastlebrown.com ). It light body brown ale, without much raspberry on the nose, but a definate though not overbearing fruit flavor in the mouth. Good drink. The Lips of Faith "La Folie" grows on me with each additional sip. You recognize the sour scent on the nose. It pours a dark redish brown, and gives you that sour, tart, sweet, no hops bite taste! Sour Ales have really appealed to me lately. If you like brown ales try the Frambozen, Sour ales are not for everyone, Milk Stouts are easier drinking than Oatmeal stouts. Hey, click on the links above and see if you can find the tasting notes! enjoy!
